ABOUT us
The Seabin Project in Malta is the brainchild of local marine agents Strand Marine and eNGO Zibel who have partnered up to distribute and maintain the award winning Seabin to Malta.
This initiative is part of their efforts to provide a holistic solution to combat marine waste and the hazards that such waste pose to marine eco systems. Since the launch in 2018 the project has seen immense support from the private sector as well as the general public. Month by month the project continues to stretch its reach around the islands’ shoreline.
Strand Marine
STRAND MARINE & AUTO SYSTEMS LTD. started operating in 1990 as a boat importing company, and following the initial success also branched out into the automotive market. Now forming part of Tauss Holdings, a second generation family business. The company identified the Seabin project as an ideal addition to their ongoing CSR efforts.
Zibel
Zibel a registered Voluntary Organisation and eNGO with the aim of reducing the overall waste generated on our islands and restoring our natural environments to their most natural states. The NGO was founded in 2017 and since then has grown and grown with the helpful hands of its team members and volunteers. Today Zibel holds monthly clean-ups around the islands, operates a boat around Malta’s shores and is constantly in search of novel solutions to safeguard the Maltese natural environment.
